At the University of Rochester, we are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive digital environment that aligns with our core values of equity, leadership, integrity, openness, respect, and accountability. Our Digital Accessibility team, as part of the Office of University Communications, supports the University in creating accessible digital experiences.

What is digital accessibility?

Digital accessibility ensures that people of all abilities and situations can access our University’s web experiences. This includes those with disabilities (visual, auditory, cognitive, speech, and motor), as well as different technical circumstances (limited internet speeds and different browsers, screen sizes, and device types).

Accessibility ladders up to our University’s values of equity and inclusion, as well as lends itself to quality web design. There are also legal compliance considerations related to accessibility.
